Welcome! To West Critters Society! WCS for short, this is a comic about the daily lives of characters in the fictional city West Critters Society, although we mainly focus on two little critters: The cat Ray, and the bunny Avery.
The comic has originally existed in many forms - 2023 is when the characters were first developed, being seen in "animations" and small strips and whatever. It wasn't until May 2024 that we got anywhere, and West Critters Society has been rolling just fine since then (Well, besides one cancellation after season 1, but we won't get into that...)
Of course, there's quite a lot of the cast, so if you want to learn more about them, visit the cast page linked right above!
Anyways, here's some good strips you should check out first:
I hope you enjoy your time here! :D
FAQ:
"Are any of the characters based on anyone?"
Almost! Ray would have counted as my "self-insert" for a bit, as he was meant to be based off of me. Though that association kinda slipped at one point. I certainly don't see myself 100% in Ray anymore... what, do I look like I shovel down cookies every waking hour?! Okay you have a point...
"What is up with Ray's scribbly hair in the old strips?"
The art style in the old strips are... rough. They were based off the original designs I had been using for the charaters since 2023, and I thought to just keep it to exactly how it was, even though Ray's whole scribbly hair thing was just because I could not be bothered to draw a full set of hair on paper. Basically it was stupid. Very, very stupid.
"Who made Olivia and Lyle?"
The characters of Olivia and Lyle were created by my friend, Drift, as a parody of Avery and Ray. They let me add them to the comic as actual characters while still overseeing how they're portrayed. Drift is also working on a comic with their specific versions of Olivia and Lyle different to the ones they're portrayed as in this comic, if you're interested.
"i am not confident that it will release for a whiiiiile" - drift
"How do you make your comics?"
I use Krita.
"I want to link to you, how can I do that?"
Up on the top there's the "Bonus Features" button, go there and you'll find a link for my buttons, and other sites I find cool. Alternatively, just click here.
